Week 1: Introduction and Thank You Cards

so elizabeth and i finished preping today. we put together all the booklets and got the craft supplies ready. it was a chaotic process. and for some reason all the teachers at my school decided to ask me for help with whatever they were working on, which made things a bit more stressful and busy. but after a year of planning, i was ready. at 230, 21 girls showed up for our first club meeting. we did some personal introductions and went through the club rules and schedule. i talked as slow as possible, but my counterparts elizabeth and cainah had to clarify a bunch. Then the girls made thank you cards as their craft. they loved it! it was so neat to see the girls excited and busy. the cards were so creative and unique. as the girls were leaving, there was an excited buzz as some of them realized that mare girls club meets next week too. i guess some of them took a while to process that point somehow. they are all so proud of their cards and excited to come again next week. day 1: a sucess!
